Recycle Saturdays in James Bay
When: JBNA Recycle Saturdays are every 3rd Saturday of each month 10 am until noon.
Where: Off street, corner of Simcoe and Oswego Streets by James Bay Community School. Click for Google map
Cost: Payment is by donation. Cash or e-Transfer to recycle@jbna.org (No password required).
Volunteers are needed, please email recycle@jbna.org
To help speed things along, please:
- Sort your recycling material into the separate categories BEFORE coming to recycle. Check below for a list of acceptable items
- Make sure your plastic is CLEAN. Dirty plastic can’t be recycled
- Remember social distancing AND wear a mask
- Payment is by donation. This covers our costs to recycle all your items properly
What’s accepted (Subject to change):
- Hard plastic
- Soft and crinkly plastic – Shopping bags, filmy plastic without labels. Soft and crinkly may be mixed
- Styrofoam, packing, white only. Includes white, clean meat trays
- Gable top cartons (milk etc.)
- Containers: rigid plastic, tin & aluminum containers, Tetra Paks, take-out coffee cups
- Batteries, rechargeable and non-rechargeable
- Electronic waste: small & medium sized electronics and cellphones
- Most types of unbroken lightbulbs, including fluorescents. If multiples, safely bundling them is appreciated
Items we cannot accept include:
- Paper
- Cardboard
- Glass
- Bubble wrap
- Styrofoam peanuts
- Black Styrofoam
- Mesh bags
- Strapping
- Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, etc.)
- Foil lined packaging
